The relics of empire. religious icons and the logos of the marketplace become layered allegories and meditations on power and faith, painted in the baroque language of Spanish Colonial Art.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
A painter of empires, icons and the in‑between.
Trained in the techniques of the Baroque and rooted in the iconography of colonial Latin America, McGrath Muñiz builds vast yet personal allegorical pantheon of anachronistic symbols. Religious Iconography collides with modern day consumerism, tarot and myth, rendering portraits of a hemisphere still wrestling with the gods it inherited and the ones it has made.
